Although labour may take hours, the moment you finally hold your precious baby in your arms, time seems to stand still. It feels like it all happened in a heartbeat. I want to capture that moment for you – the first time you lock eyes with your newborn, the overwhelming wave of love, and the joy that fills the room.

Q: Why should you invest in a birth photographer?

Q: What is on call?
A: On call means I am available 24/7 around your due date, ready to come to the birth at a moment's notice. This ensures they don’t miss any important moments, no matter when labour begins.
Q: What if labour starts throughout the night and lighting is not great?
A: We will discuss this during one of our consultations.
Rest assured, night or day, I will still come to do your birth photos. As we know babies are very unpredictable when the arrive.
If the lighting is not great, I do have the option of using a flash. This would not be pointed directly at you, it will be bounced of the walls/ceiling.
If you would prefer no flash, that is absolutely fine. Your images may have a little extra grain in them, but this will make them look more timeless.

Q: What if I have to transport to the hospital for birth or if I am having my baby at the hospital?
A:
That’s not a problem, but it’s important to check with your midwife, as hospital policies can vary. Many hospitals only allow two birth partners, so you may need to decide if you want to count me as one of them.
If you require a c-section, please note that I won’t be allowed in the operating theatre. However, I can still capture meaningful moments before and after the procedure.
Q: Do I have to pay a booking fee / retainer?
A: Yes, I require a non-refundable retainer of £295 to secure your booking. The remaining balance will be due before your photos are released.

Q: What happens if you are unable to attend the birth?
A:
First and foremost, please know that I will do everything I can to be there for your birth. However, as every birth is unique and unpredictable, there’s always a chance things may progress quicker than expected or unforeseen circumstances may arise.
If your little one has already arrived by the time I get there, I will continue capturing those precious moments during the golden hour after birth, including the first cuddles, weighing, and other beautiful firsts.
In the rare event that I am unable to attend due to illness, your retainer can be applied towards a Fresh 48 or newborn session. I understand that life is unpredictable, which is why I allow payment of the remaining balance only once your photos are edited and ready. This flexibility helps accommodate any unexpected challenges along the way.
Q: Will all my photos be in black and white?
A: You will receive a mix of both colour and black-and-white photos. While both styles beautifully capture the moment, black-and-white images often have a timeless quality that adds depth and emotion to your memories.

Q: Will my photos be shared on your website or social media?
A: I respect your privacy and give each client the choice of whether or not they'd like their photos shared publicly. If you're comfortable with it, I’d be thrilled to showcase your beautiful images!
