WHEN IS BEST TO BOOK OUR NEWBORN SESSION?
It’s best to book your lifestyle newborn photography session after your 20-week scan. When you book, I’ll note your due date in my diary. Then, once your baby has arrived, just send me a message and we’ll find the perfect time for your in-home photoshoot.
The ideal time for lifestyle newborn photos is within the first 3 weeks after birth, when babies are still very sleepy and settled—just as they were before they came into the world. These early weeks are perfect for capturing those intimate, everyday moments in the comfort and familiarity of your own home.
That said, if your baby is a little older, don’t worry—it’s never too late to create beautiful memories. Older newborns might be more alert and curious, which means we can capture sweet, natural moments of them exploring, stretching, or even sharing a cheeky little smile.
Because babies rarely arrive exactly on schedule, I only take a limited number of newborn bookings each week to keep things flexible. This ensures I’m ready and available whether your little one arrives early or decides to take their time!
HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION TAKE?
Every baby is wonderfully unique—some will drift off peacefully during the session, while others might need extra feeds, cuddles, and time to settle in their own space. For lifestyle newborn sessions, I recommend setting aside up to 3 hours so we have plenty of time to work around your baby’s needs in a calm, relaxed, and completely baby-led way.
WHAT DO WE WEAR?
When booking your session, I always recommend sticking to a simple, coordinated colour palette—neutral tones work best. Avoid big logos, text, or busy prints so nothing distracts from the beautiful moments we’re capturing.
