Now they have grown up from the delicate newborn stage and are wanting to explore more with new textures and tastes. Cake Smash photography captures a fun and joyful moment in a baby's life. Their first birthday is a significant milestone, and the cake smash session provides an excellent opportunity to document this moment in a creative and memorable way. It also produces a meaningful experiences that will last a lifetime. Plus, it’s great fun!
If mess isn't yours or your little ones style, I do offer birthday milestone sessions as well.
I offer 2 types of sessions, cake smash, with all the gooey cake smashing and birthday milestone session, that features a birthday balloon of your little ones age.

PRICING
Upon booking the session fee (retainer fee) is required to secure your date in my diary.
Please note, your session fee (retainer fee) is non-refundable, but is transferable to another date if rearranged within 48 hours of your current booked session date.
SESSION FEE
The following Session Fee reserves your booking:
£50 (Monday to Friday)
an additional £25 is required for weekend and bank holiday bookings (this fee is NOT taken off the collection packages)
The non refundable session fee is to secure your photoshoot in my diary, which is then taken off your collection package.

YOUR CAKE SMASH SESSION
My preferred style of photography is timeless and natural, capturing your little one enjoying the cake, with gentle guidance from myself.
My home studio is easily accessible on the outskirts of Rotherham. It is only a few minutes from the M1 and A1 motor ways.
When you arrive at the studio we will have a little chat to ease any concerns and nerves. I want you to feel as comfortable and as relaxed as possible.
Your session will last anything from an hour up to around 2 hours, however the timings are not exact
As a Rotherham cake smash and birthday photographer, I take natural photos of your little one, either enjoying their cake or exploring some of the lovely wooden toys and with their birthday balloon I have in my studio in Rotherham.
My goal as a Rotherham cake smash and milestone photographer is to provide you with timeless, authentic, classic, natural, semi-posed images of your little one, that can take pride of place in your home and cherished forever.
Cake smash and birthday milestone sessions, can be for anyone at any age, from their 1st birthday to their 30th.

THERE IS NOTHING THAT MAKES A HOME MORE ‘HOMELY’ THAN DISPLAYING YOUR FAMILIES MEMORIES THAT WILL BE CHERISHED MEMORIES AND ALLOW YOU TO RELIVE THAT SPECIAL MILESTONE, FOSTERING A SENSE OF NOSTALGIA AND CONNECTION.
During your session I always aim to ask if you can think of a piece of wall in their homes that looks empty and lonely, and would benefit with some professionally made wall art. Here at White Orchard Photography, I offer a variety of wall art and print products.

YOUR QUESTIONS
WHAT IS CAKE SMASH PHOTOGRAPHY? A cake smash photography session is a fun and playful way to celebrate your child's first birthday. The photoshoot involves your child sitting in front of a cake and smashing it, creating a mess whilst I capture their adorable expressions and reactions. I do say though, cake smash sessions can be for any age!
WHEN TO DO CAKE SMASH PHOTOS? It's best to schedule a cake smash photography session a few weeks before your child's first birthday. This gives you enough time to select and order the photos you want to use for invitations or decorations for the party.
WHAT IS A MILESTONE SESSION? This session is the cleaner version of a cake smash session. This is the best session for those who have allergies, for those who do not like getting messy, and for those who don't have a sweet tooth and finally those who do not like food wastage. I take a range of images during the session, from the birthday person on their own, with a fake wooden cake and with the balloon. There will also be opportunities for mum, dad and siblings to join in as well.
IS CAKE SMASH WORTH IT? Absolutely! 100% Your little one will have so much fun, joy, and the delight on their faces will radiate through the pictures. Cake smash sessions are moments you'll treasure for a lifetime. They're a celebration of yourlittle ones birthday.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR? Most parents opt for a tutu or nappy cover, but you can choose any outfit that you feel will look cute and festive. It's also a good idea to bring a change of clothes for your child in case they get too messy. Ideally I like to stick to neutral colours such as whites and creams, but with a cake smash session a little pop of colour with the white outfit can look adorable.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE SESSION? A typical cake smash photography session lasts about an hour up to around 2 hours. This gives your child plenty of time to explore and play with the cake before getting tired or cranky. I usually start the session with some clean photos of your little one playing with some beautiful wooden toys and balloons as well as a fake cake, then the fun starts with the introduction of the real cake. It is best to bring a towel and extra wipes and clean clothes as the cake smash can sometimes get very messy.
DO YOU PROVIDE A CAKE? In short, no I do not provide cakes for the session. This is due to insurance and allergies. Any shop bought cake is adequate, however I do ask for no hundreds and thousands cake, also be mindful of the taste. Something with a really strong flavour may put the little one off.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS? You will receive your link for your online viewing gallery is around 3-4 weeks, usually less after the session date. You will be able to download your selected amount of digital images straight from the gallery. I suggest doing this on a computer or laptop as mobile phones can decrease the quality of the images.
DO YOU SUPPLY PRINTED PRODUCTS? Yes, I offer a selection of fine art and normal printed products, from lose prints to albums. You will receive a pdf document with the products and pricing in. There is also a selection in the studio for you to have a browse through during the session. I always suggest purchasing some kind of printed product, such as prints, album or folio, as they can be a staple to your home, as well as giving you something tangible to show your family and friends and have on display.
