During your pregnancy you have so much on your mind that you have to be prepared for, such as the birth, getting the nursery ready, buying all those adorable baby items. Sometimes in this mad rush you forget to take time for yourself as your to busy preparing for what is to come. This is where Maternity Photography can help you, it can give you those memories of the big changes that your amazing body has gone through and the achievement that you have created a life in a tangible form that will be there forever.
Here is some information regarding my style of photography and what you can expect in your maternity session in Rotherham.
My preferred style of photography is timeless and natural. I don't use big fancy props or extravagant backgrounds. I prefer to keep everything as minimal as possible so that the focus of the photos is on yourself and the bump and the connection that you have already made with your little one.

Upon booking the session fee (retainer fee) is required to secure your date in my diary.
Please note, your session fee (retainer fee) is non-refundable, but is transferable to another date if rearranged within 48 hours of your current booked session date.

The following Session Fee reserves your booking:
£50 (Monday to Friday)
an additional £25 is required for weekend and bank holiday bookings (this fee is NOT taken off the collection packages)
The non refundable session fee is to secure your photoshoot in my diary, which is then taken off your collection package.

YOUR MATERNITY SESSION
As a Rotherham maternity photographer, I offer a very relaxed approach to maternity photography. The session is all about capturing you and your bump. There is no strict posing, and we will do what ever is comfortable for you.
My goal as a Rotherham maternity photographer is to provide you with timeless, authentic, classic, natural, semi-posed images of you and your baby bump, that can take pride of place in your home and cherished forever.
The best time for a maternity session is from around your third trimester 30-36 weeks.

THERE IS NOTHING THAT MAKES A HOME MORE ‘HOMELY’ THAN DISPLAYING YOUR FAMILIES MEMORIES THAT WILL BE CHERISHED MEMORIES AND ALLOW YOU TO RELIVE THAT SPECIAL MILESTONE, FOSTERING A SENSE OF NOSTALGIA AND CONNECTION.
During your session I always aim to ask if you can think of a piece of wall in their homes that looks empty and lonely, and would benefit with some professionally made wall art. Here at White Orchard Photography, I offer a variety of wall art and print products.

YOUR QUESTIONS
WHEN SHOULD YOU TAKE MATERNITY PHOTOS? Maternity photography sessions usually take place in the third trimester from around 28 weeks until a week or two before your due date. This is to allow for you to be a little more comfortable in the studio and your bump should be nice and round. I aim to miss the final couple of weeks before the baby arrives so this gives you time to relax before the big day.
WHICH MONTH IS BEST FOR MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT? The best time for a maternity photshoot is between 28 and 26 weeks. The third trimester. This can fall in any month of the year. With a studio maternity photoshoot, any month through out the year would be great for a session. If however, you would prefer a location maternity photoshoot, the months can vary along with the weather. Spring and Autumn would be my ideal months, however, we can do any month as long as the weather plays nice.
WHERE WILL THE SESSION TAKE PLACE? Your maternity photography session will take place in the comfort of my own lovely home studio, on the outskirts of Barnsley and Rotherham, at Manvers, South Yorkshire. It is within easy access from the M1 and A1 motorways. However, if the outdoors are more your thing, we can do a location maternity photoshoot.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? I absolutely adore pure natural colours, like whites, beige's and creams. These colours are what I would recommend for my studio maternity photography. These can either be long flowy dresses or partnered with some light coloured jeans or chinos. If your happy to have photos in your underwear, I would recommend wearing something that is matching in colour.
CAN I BRING MY PARTNER AND OTHER CHILDREN? Yes of course, there is no better connection between the partner and the growing bump and these can make wonderful photos. The same with your children, seeing their connection with your growing bump is such a wonderful experience to capture.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS? You will receive your link for your online viewing gallery is around 3-4 weeks, usually less after the session date. You will be able to download your selected amount of digital images straight from the gallery. I suggest doing this on a computer or laptop as mobile phones can decrease the quality of the images.
HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU SPEND ON MATERNITY PHOTOS? Each photographer has their own vision and creativity and expertise. There is no rule to say how much you should spend, as each photographer runs their business differently and has different overheads etc. All I do suggest, is to make sure you have seen some examples of the photographers work, so you know your going to be getting the images you want. I, myself shoot in a light and airy style, so I would not suit someone who likes a darker image or colourful backdrops in the studio.
DO YOU SUPPLY PRINTED PRODUCTS? Yes, I offer a selection of fine art and normal printed products, from lose prints to albums. You will receive a pdf document with the products and pricing in. There is also a selection in the studio for you to have a browse through during the session. I always suggest purchasing some kind of printed product, such as prints, album or folio, as they can be a staple to your home, as well as giving you something tangible to show your family and friends and have on display.
